Join us for a block printmaking workshop for teens. Make your own block print and learn more about the Hashi-Maine Aomori Student Art Exchange!
About the Hashi-Maine Student Art Exchange: the Hashi exchange of student prints, created grades 1-6 serves as a bridge between student artists in sister states of Maine and Aomori, Japan. This collaborative effort, is led by Friends of Aomori, President, Lynda McCann-Olson of Maine, and the Aomori City Morning Rotary and fosters cross-cultural understanding and empathy, the building blocks of global competency for students. The exchanged artwork becomes part of esteemed collections in both states, symbolizing diplomacy and collaboration. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Maine Aomori sister-state relationship. Aomori has been the destination for many Maine middle school in-person exchange programs, including Bath and Greely Middle School. Portland Public Teen Library is the art exhibit's last public exhibition for 2024.
