Do you have a novel business idea but don't know where to start? Have you recently embarked on a small business venture but are overwhelmed by all the logistical barriers to getting off the ground? Whether these questions apply to you, or whether you are simply interested in exploring your financial options, Portland Public Library is working with New Ventures Maine to bring an exploratory course on self-employment to our PPL community.
New Ventures Maine, a statewide program operating out of the University of Maine at Augusta, aims to help everyday Mainers achieve financial security on their own terms. In pursuit of this mission, New Ventures will be operating a beginner's level course on self employment that will cover topics such as:
- How to assess your business idea
- Forming and naming your business
- Elements of a business plan
- Strategies and resources for success
Attendance is open and the only requirement is your own interest!
