Paws & Pages is a program where children can practice reading to a certified therapy dog. Smith the golden retriever and his person, Jane, will be here most Friday afternoons for one hour*. Readers can sign up for their one-on-one reading session with Smith. Each session is 15 minutes. Book your spot right here on our website for a specific date with Smith. You can also call, email, or stop by the Children's Library Downtown to reserve a time for your child. Registration is encouraged but not required.
Paws & Pages is designed for children who are learning to read aloud or who are looking to build confidence in their reading skills. Children are welcome to bring their own favorite book to read to Smith, or they can borrow one of the many library books we have here.
Smith is a member of the Alliance for Therapy Dogs.
*Please see calendar for exact dates.
