Join Portland Public Library to create your own Exquisite Corpse!

NonSense: Collaboration on Spontaneous Composition
In conjunction with our exhibit, we’re inviting community members to come and make art together!  Like the Surrealists who inspired this exhibit, we'll be gathering to play the game of Exquisite Corpse and create collaborative, nonsensical drawings.  Join us at the First Friday Art Walk on December 5th where we'll have art supplies set up for anyone who wants to play!  Or, pop into the Riverton or Downtown Branches during the months of November and December and add your contributions to these collaborative games which will be set up near the lending desks.  Feel free to take supplies, prepared by Love Lab Studios, and play the game of Exquisite Corpse at home with friends and family.  Community members are encouraged to bring any Exquisite Corpse collaborative drawings to the Children’s Library at the Downtown Branch and we’ll display them in the Camden National Bank Community Gallery during the months of November and December. Riverton neighborhood members can bring their drawings back to the Riverton Branch Library to be displayed there. (Portland Public Library will do it’s best to return drawings to artists but is not responsible for lost or damaged work).

Portland Public Library Staff Art Exhibit
In addition to being tremendous librarians and civil servants, many staff members at Portland Public Library staff are an incredibly talent bunch of artists!  This exhibit highlights the creativity and skills of our staff and substitutes.  The Staff Exhibit will be on display in the Camden National Bank Community Gallery December 5-31, 2025.
