Presentation Description
Each spring, frogs and salamanders awaken from their winter rest and some species begin an incredible journey. On the first warm, rainy night, these amphibians travel up to a half mile through the woods toward wetlands and pools to lay their eggs — sometimes crossing busy roads along the way. Volunteers across Maine gather on this “Big Night” to help these tiny creatures safely reach their destinations. Join us to learn more about how you can lend a hand.
Bio
Tyler Kidder (she/her) has always been curious about small things in nature which led to her deep love of frogs and salamanders. When she isn't spying on insects and amphibians, she spends a bit too much time working in front of her computer in her role as Network Manager at Maine Philanthropy Center. In 2024, she completed the Maine Master Naturalist Program. Tyler lives with her husband and lovely pets on a pond in Litchfield.
Here is a video Tyler made for last year's Big Night!
